Cowboy Mounted Shooting is the fastest growing sport in both Canada and the US.; this will be the first year there will be Mounted Shooters Competition at Farmfair. It will be the pre-show for the final two performances of the Heritage Ranch Rodeo. This is a sport that is gaining popularity rapidly throughout North America and Canadian competitors have been represented at international competitions so the calibre of the presentation will be high.
Cowboy Mounted Shooting is a fast action timed competitive event. The sport requires the riding of a horse to negotiate a shooting patter where balloon targets are shot with black powder blank ammunition that is certified to break a target balloon within twenty feet, testing skills in both horsemanship and shooting.
